Kirkby in Ashfield Leisure Centre, The Mary Rose Suite

Project Details: The Kirkby in Ashfield Leisure Centre is in the heart of Kirkby and its facilities include a 4-court sports hall, with theatre-style seating, a fitness, suit, soft play & climbing wall, a sensory room and an indoor cycling studio. Pi was appointed alongside project managers/cost consultants Kinver Business Solutions to help create a multi-use, flexible space named ‘The Mary Rose Suite’. We worked with a designer to ensure that the furniture specified could be used for a multitude of reasons such as dementia social space, baby groups, yoga and other group activities. One of the key aspects was to ensure that the FF&E was easily changeable and adaptable to the usage as well as using a healthcare standard fabric for easy cleaning and longevity.

Services provided: FF&E procurement, layout options, budgeting, logistics planning, delivery, installation, ongoing service, and inclusivity driving.

Appointed by an East Midlands Local Authority we were faced with the challenge of fitting out a flexible space with multi functional furniture suitable for all ages. Hannah at PiSQ was our solution. Having worked with PiSQ previously we knew that she’d fully understand the brief, our requirements and work within the budgets.

The results were perfect, celebrated by the client and proved an immediate hit with the users of the space. Furniture suitable for all ages, the ability to organise the furniture for users such as the elderly as well as younger generations. The furniture was also relatively light for moving which enabled the space to continue to be flexible.

The services that Hannah gave was professional, informative and timely throughout. Hannah originally met with us to discuss our needs, she looked to understand the priorities and kept us informed as she looked to source the suitable furniture. Delivery and installation timescales were clear throughout and she personally oversaw the installation through site visits and updates to our team.

Post handover Hannah visited site, discussed with the operator and user the functionality of the furniture and gave maintenance advice to ensure the furniture remains in as new as condition for the longest possible period.

The overall experience with Hannah and PiSQ was really positive. Clear communication, factual but also giving advice and guidance throughout we’ll look to work with her again at the appropriate time.
